Project Manager

Pueng That holds a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the Swiss Institute of Technology (ETH). He is the founder of Plaware. In 2017, he travelled to Cambodia to visit his relatives there. On this trip, he noticed a massive increase in the problem of plastic waste compared to his previous trips more than ten years ago. So, he decided to do something about it. Because he continues to work as an independent environmental engineer in the Swiss construction industry, he regularly travels back and forth between the two countries.

Samban Chea is the Cambodia manager of Fauna in Focus, Plaware's local partner organization in Siem Reap. Thanks to his many years of work in this NGO, he has a lot of experience in setting up and implementing community programs. In addition, as a "local," he knows the local customs very well and is therefore an indispensable link to the local population. He ensures that our Plaware Community Programme is understood by the local population and implemented accordingly.

Daniel Roper-Jones is founder and director of Fauna in Focus. Born in New York, he came to Cambodia in 2013 and founded Fauna in Focus in 2015. Through his many years of work in various NGOs in Madagascar and Cambodia, he has the necessary experience in planning and implementing charitable programs. In recent years, he has also produced various documentary films and is also the lead for media production at Plaware.

Plaware Association (Switzerland)

Barbara Spirgi-Noser, is an experienced accountant and manages the cash desk and bookkeeping at Plaware. Thus, there is no business-relevant activity that does not pass through her hands. Together with Thomas, they form, true to the principle of separation of powers, the "independent" control team within Plaware.

Daniel Gysin, holds a master’s degree in rural engineering ETH and is vice-president of Plaware. Thanks to his professional activity as head of the environment division at the engineering office Aegerter & Bosshardt AG, his many years of commitment in Africa, Tanzania and projects with the Swiss Africa Aid, as well as his passion for film, photography and travel, he has the necessary experience for this function. He is married and has two children (16 and 24 years).

Sacha Sekulic, lic. iur. LL.M. is an actuary at the Plaware Association. Sacha received his LL.M. from the William J. Richardson School of Law in Hawaii. After several years of experience in a leading law firm in Switzerland, he works as an independent lawyer since 2015 and supports the association in all conceivable legal matters.

Thomas Kaufmann has a diploma in fiduciary services and is responsible for the finances of Plaware. Thomas is the founder and owner of Hallwilersee Treuhand AG in CH-5616 Meisterschwanden and ensures that within Plaware, the donations are channeled and declared correctly. He checks and approves the annual accounts of the association for the general assembly.

Dr. Holger Hofmann-Riem is managing director of the differencelab.org cooperative, which supports Plaware with the homepage and the crowdfunding. Holger was originally an environmental scientist, but soon switched from basic research to the implementation of innovative solutions. As former innovation manager of WWF Switzerland, he created the start-up promotion program of WWF Switzerland.

Eugene Gorelikov is a software developer and part of the differenclab.org team that ensures that all technical processes on the homepage run smoothly. His self-critical humor is unique and has made for one or two laughs during the development work. Quote: "I'm a developer, we don't have a brain!"

Sev Oztas is a UX designer with training at the Münster University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. The Plaware logo, the navigation concept, as well as the content structure and its presentation originate from his creativity.
