A plastic tsunami floods Cambodia

PLAWARE aims to reduce the pollution of green areas and surface waters by plastic by at least 10 tons per year*.

*According to the World Bank, 0.45 kg of waste is produced per person and day in comparable regions. According to a study by the Cambodian Education and Waste Management Organization (COMPED), in Cambodia municipal waste consits of approximately 10 % of plastic. Our Community Programme aims to motivate 600 people in 4 regions in Siem Reap to regenerate plastic (convert it back into crude oil). This results in: 0.45 kg/P*d x 0.1 x 600 P x 365 d = approx. 10’000 kg.
